| Opening Weekend This high-octane, pedal-to-the-floor weekend features new works by Chicago’s best choreographers and ensembles. See ballet, tap, urban, Irish, character, jazz and contemporary works all weaved in to one exhilarating night of dance. Special guests this year include the Dance Chicago premiers of the great Moscow Ballet, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, New York’s Ajkun Ballet Theatre, and South Korea’s Kim Geung-soo Ballet Company, as well as the polished works of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, LehrerDance New York, World Champion Trinity Irish Dancers, Concert Dance Inc. and other unexpected surprises. |

We have 12 years of tuning shows to perfection with considerations of music, length of works, quality of works and performers to give audiences an optimum journey. Unlike other showcases that program from the point of view of the artist’s needs, we program from the audiences’ needs – making it a magical and inspirational experience.
Whether they are dancers from Joffrey, Giordano, Hubbard Street, the Dutch National Ballet or elsewhere, we focus on the works, not simply the company’s name or individual artists. We spend all year looking at 2,000 different dances – the competition is stiff - to get the best 200 works we can find.
